Nothing says summertime quite like strawberries and peaches. The combination will make any country boy go howdy and any city girl go woo hoo! Ok, enough of that but you get my point. No matter where your from this combination goes well together and is a cool, refreshing summertime favorite.

We have harvested so many strawberries this year just on our property. It has been an abundant year for them this season. My kids really enjoy just going outside and picking them to eat. We have been able to make strawberry shortcake, added strawberries to a salad and pairing them up with peaches to enjoy this smoothie right here.

Ingredients you’ll need

  • Strawberries- frozen ones work the best but you can use fresh ones as well
  • Peaches- just like the strawberries, frozen work best but fresh are fine too
  • Banana- this should be frozen as it helps with the consistency of the smoothie
  • Unsweetened almond milk- helps to make the smoothie creamy but you can use whatever type of milk you like
  • Vanilla Extract- enhances the flavors of the smoothie
  • Collagen powder (optional)- gives the smoothie a thicker consistency

How to make

  1. Combine all ingredients into a blender
  2. Pulse until combined to desired consistency
  3. Enjoy!

Frozen fruit or fresh fruit

This recipe works best if all fruit is frozen. It helps give it the cool, creamy texture that you want for a smoothie. However, fresh fruit will work fine if you don’t have frozen on hand. The smoothie just won’t be as cool so you will want to place in the refrigerator for 1/2 hour or add in a few ice cubes and pulse in blender.

How can I make the smoothie creamier?

You can add in some ice cubes or an extra scoop of collegen to thicken it up and it will make it nice and creamier.

Ingredient Highlight- Strawberries

  • Great source of vitamins and minerials– excellent source of vitamin C, potassium, folate and manganese.
  • Low glycemic score- strawberries rate as a 40 on the scale which means they should not spike blood sugar levels too high. Think of them as natures candy!
  • Vitamin C- more vitamin C than an orange. Vitamin C is shown to boost immunity.
  • Good source of fiber- about 3 grams of fiber in one cup. Fiber is good for overall gut health and regularity.
  • Great as an add – smoothies, protein rich yogurt, topping on a dessert or afternoon snack dipped in nut butter.
