A rich, creamy protein shake that taste just like the holiday season!

I absolutely love egg nog! Growing up it became available in the store around Thanksgiving. Now you can get it before Halloween. That’s a long time to be drinking egg nog. LOL! There also seems to be so many kinds out on the market ranging from full fat dairy to non-dairy nogs. This shake is all about balance. The goodness of egg nog combined with added protein to give it a healthy spin. Since we will be using egg nog that’s already made there is no need to worry about raw eggs. This creamy, delicious holiday drink will become an absolute favorite. I promise!

What ingredients are needed?

  • Egg Nog
  • Vanilla Protein Powder
  • Collagen Peptides (optional)
  • Nutmeg
  • Cinnamon
  • Ice

How to make

Combine egg nog, protein powder, collagen and ice in a high powered blender. Pulse on medium until mixture is combined. Pour into glass and sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg spices on top. Stir spices in and enjoy!

Can I make it dairy-free?

Sure, just use your favorite dairy-free egg nog. My son is dairy-free and he enjoys Califia Farms Holiday Nog Almondmilk. You could also use a coconut based nog too. Just note that dairy-free egg nog isn’t as thick as a dairy based egg nog so your shake might not be as thick. I have recipe tested with the Califia Farms Holiday Nog Almondmilk and it is slightly more watery but not enough that I don’t think you’d enjoy the shake none-the-less.

What type of protein powder do you use?

I use Julian Bakery Paleo Thin Vanilla Protein Powder. This protein powder has super clean ingredients and 25 grams of protein per scoop. You want to definitely use a vanilla protein powder so the tastes blend well together.

What type of collegen do you use?

I use unflavored Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides. Collagen peptides are a great source of amino acids and protein. This is totally optional to add into the shake but is a great addition.
