Description

If you've ever found yourself craving the tangy, savory flavors of a Big Mac but wanted something a little more wholesome, this Big Mac Salad is for you! Seasoned ground beef, crunchy lettuce, pickles, onions and the signature "special sauce" but served in a nourishing bowl that's perfect for lunch, dinner or even meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head of iceberg lettuce
  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup dill pickle slices
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup Healthy Big Mac Sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Healthy Big Mac Sauce according to directions and refrigerate until ready to assemble salad.
  2. Over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil and add the ground beef. Season the beef with salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder. Cook beef until browned 7-10 minutes.
  3. Prepare the topping by chopping the lettuce, slicing the pickles and onions.
  4. In a large bowl, assemble the salad by making a layer of lettuce, then layer the ground beef, onions, pickles, and cheese.
  5. Drizzle the sauce evenly over the salad. Optional, sprinkle the sesame seeds on top.

Notes

  • Drain any excess grease from beef before adding to salad.
  • Let beef cool before adding to salad so the lettuce does not wilt.
  • Use fresh, crisp lettuce like iceberg or butter.
  • Layer salad ingredients.
  • You can make the Healthy Big Mac Sauce up to 2 weeks in advance and refrigerate.
  • Storage: Place any leftovers in an airtight container refrigerated for up to 2 days.
