About Emily’s Wholesome Kitchen

Introduce readers to author

Hello there, my name is Emily and I am the photographer, food stylist and content creator behind Emily’s Wholesome Kitchen. I am first and foremost a wife and mom to two small children. Seeing them grow brings me so much joy. As a homeschool family, they are in the kitchen with me all the time. My oldest is learning to cook and prepare foods for himself and others. Currently, we live in Williamsburg, Virginia but we have lived previously in Texas for 5 years. As you will see, several dishes on the site have a southwestern flare infused into them. Emily’s Wholesome Kitchen is based on the scripture 1 Corinthians 10:31- So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Why did you create Emily’s Wholesome Kitchen?

I began this blog because I wanted to show others how to eat real food without it being complicated. I want people to understand the importance of real food to their overall health and well being. By taking an active part in preparing and cooking, you can see hands-on the benefits of a real food based lifestyle. I also want to share a more natural way of living using many things in the kitchen. I have found both these to play an integral part in my overall health. This site gives me the opportunity to share them with you.

What can you find on Emily’s Wholesome Kitchen?

On the site you will find recipes that are real food based meaning one ingredient, non processed and whole food- just like God made them. I have a variety of recipes-breakfast, snacks, main dishes and desserts that even the pickiest eater will enjoy (my son is one of my taste testers). All recipes are gluten-free as we are both sensitive to gluten. These recipes are sure to be flavorful, delicious, wholesome and I hope will be some of your family favorites. Also, I will be sharing some of my favorite tips and recipes to living a more natural, greener lifestyle by way of the kitchen. My desire is that they can be of help to you on your health journey.

What are some of your favorite recipes?

Of course, I love them all! But some of my favorite recipes I recommend you to try are:

  • Asian Beef Skillet
  • Creamy Bacon Ranch Stuffed Spaghetti Squash Bowls
  • Southwestern Frittata
  • Gluten-Free Blueberry Crumble
  • Homemade Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
  • Gluten-Free No Bake Cake Pops
