WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS HIGH PROTEIN DIP
- High in protein. Cottage cheese is the star ingredient, giving this dip a satisfying protein boost compared to many traditional ranch dips.
- Super creamy. Blending the cottage cheese transforms it into a smooth, creamy base without needing a long list of ingredients.
- Classic ranch flavor. Fresh herbs, seasonings and tangy ingredients gives you all those familiar ranch flavors you love.
- Easy to make. Simply blend everything together, chill and you're ready to dip!
INGREDIENTS AND SUBSTITUTIONS
- Cottage cheese: I strongly recommend using the full fat version for the best texture.
- Ranch seasoning: A gluten free ranch seasoning packet or your homemade blend is needed.
- Sour cream: I also use a full fat sour cream for the creamiest flavor but you can use a low fat version especially if using full fat cottage cheese.
- Fresh parsley: Fresh is going to be the best but you could also use cilantro or dill as well.

HOW TO MAKE COTTAGE CHEESE RANCH DIP
Step 1: Place ingredients in food processor/blender

Step 2: Pulse until smooth

TIPS FOR SUCCESS
- Use full fat cottage cheese. For the richest and creamiest dip, I recommend using a full fat cottage cheese. You can use low fat cottage cheese if you prefer, but the texture may be slightly less rich.
- Blend until completely smooth. Don't rush this step! Let your blender or food processor run until the cottage cheese is completely smooth and creamy.
- Let it chill before serving. While you can absolutely eat this dip right away, giving it some time in the refrigerator helps the flavors come together. I recommend chilling at least 30 minutes before serving if you have the time.
- Don't skip the fresh parsley. Fresh herbs can take this dip from good to seriously ranch-y. Fresh parsley adds a bright, fresh flavor that pairs perfectly with the creamy cottage cheese base.
WHAT TO SERVE WITH COTTAGE CHEESE RANCH DIP
This creamy high protein ranch dip is one of those recipes that works with just about anything! Here are some of my favorite ways to serve it:
- Fresh vegetables: Carrots, celery, cucumber, bell peppers, broccoli and cherry tomatoes are all great for dipping.
- Crackers: Use your favorite gluten free crackers for an easy snack.
- Pretzels: Salty gluten free pretzels and creamy ranch dip are such a good combination.
- Potato wedges: Serve this dip alongside crispy roasted or air fried potatoes.
- Chips: Tortilla chips or sturdy gluten free potato chips all work well.
- Grilled meats: Use it as a dipping sauce for chicken tenders, grilled pork chops or steak.
- Tacos: Drizzle over top these Mexican Street Corn Chicken Tacos or these Garlic Butter Honey BBQ Chicken Tacos.
- Party platters: Add it to a veggie tray or snack board for an easy appetizer.

HOW TO STORE COTTAGE CHEESE RANCH DIP
Store leftover cottage cheese ranch dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It should stay fresh for up to 3 days.
Give it a good stir before serving, as a little separation can happen while it sits in the refrigerator. If the dip become thicker than you'd like, stir in a small splash of milk to loosen it back up.
For entertaining, you can make this dip ahead of time and keep it refrigerated until you're ready to serve. Just wait to add the fresh parsley until right before serving.
FAQ'S
Can I make this cottage cheese ranch dip without a blender?
A blender or food processor gives you the smoothest texture, which is what makes this dip so creamy. If you don't have one, you can mix the ingredients by hand, but the cottage cheese will remain slightly lumpy.
Can I use cottage cheese with large curds?
Absolutely! Since the cottage cheese is blended, the size of the curds doesn't matter much. Just blend long enough to create the smooth consistency you're looking for.
Can I make this dip ahead of time?
Yes! This is a great make ahead dip. Preparing it a few hours before serving gives the ranch seasoning time to mingle with the creamy cottage cheese.
Can I use this as a ranch dressing?
Yes! If you prefer a thinner consistency, simply stir in a little milk until you reach your desired consistency. It makes a great creamy dressing for salads, wraps and bowls.
Can I freeze cottage cheese ranch dip?
I don't recommend freezing this dip. The texture of cottage cheese can change after freezing and thawing, which may leave the dip watery or slightly grainy. It's best made fresh and stored in the refrigerator.

- Food safety: It's not recommended to leave the dip at room temperature for more than 2 hours. On hot days, this time should be reduced to ensure food safety.
