This crowd pleasing 5 ingredient million dollar dip will blow the socks off your guest at your next party or get together. It truly tastes like a million dollars!

When it comes to appetizers, I’m a huge fan of all the dips. Give me some chips and dip and I’m good. This 5 ingredient million dollar dip is not only flavorful but comes together in under 5 minutes. Whether its a baby shower, birthday party or game day, this dip will not disappoint. If you love this dip, try this creamy buffalo chicken dip with rotel’s too. Both are sure to be enjoyed by all.

    History of Million Dollar Dip

Million Dollar Dip is also known as “Neiman Marcus Cheese Dip.” This recipe originally appeared as “Almond Bacon Cheese Spread” in Helen Corbitt’s cookbook by Helen Corbitt. However, the Neiman Marcus reference comes from the fact it was reported to have been served in one of the rooms there. Along the way it adopted the name “Neiman Marcus Cheese Dip”. Either way, it is an easy go to party pleasing dip that your guests will absolutely love. This dip is rich and creamy with fantastic flavors.

    Ingredient Notes:

Simple ingredients are always the best. These 5 ingredients combined are so delicious and easy to assemble.

    • Bacon: Need I say more?! Everything is wonderful if you add bacon to it. You can use chopped up real bacon or bacon bits. This recipe is photographed using bacon bits. They do give the dip more crunch than traditional bacon. Use which you prefer.
    • Cheddar Cheese: The star of this dip! You can use pre-shredded cheese or shred cheese yourself. I will say if your making this dip in advance, shred the cheese yourself. Pre-shredded cheese has an anti-caking agent in it that will modify the taste of the dip.
    • Mayonnaise: This creamy goodness holds everything together. Please only use real mayo not miracle whip or salad dressing as this will definitely change the taste and texture.
    • Slivered almonds: Adds a bit more crunch and nutty flavor.
    • Green Onions: Adds and helps bring out more flavors.

How To Make Million Dollar Dip

Combine all ingredients into a large bowl

Blend together, stirring until mixture is creamy and sticking together

Let chill for up to 2 hours, then serve

    Frequently Asked Questions

1.) How long is this dip good for? If kept refrigerated in an airtight container, it will keep for 2-3 days.

2.) Can this dip be made ahead of time? Absolutely, and I personally would recommend it. Making it a day before or several hours before servings gives the ingredients time to blend together.

3.) Can you freeze Million Dollar Dip? I would not. Freezing mayo never taste good as it breaks down when frozen. The texture ends up being gross.

4.) How is this dip best served? Million Dollar Dip is best served chilled. It is best made a few hours up to a whole day chilled in the refrigerator before serving. I prefer to serve on ice so that everything stays cold and does not spoil or grow bacteria.

5.) What is best served with Million Dollar Dip? Any type of your favorite gluten free crackers, chips or bread. Also raw veggies such as cucumbers, carrots, celery, peppers or broccoli go perfect for dipping.

    Tips for Best Dip

    • Bacon bits work better than bacon. Bacon tends to be greasy and some cuts are not always crunchy. You want that crunch and no mess that bacon bits can provide.
    • Shred your own cheese. Pre-shredded cheddar cheese has an anti-caking agent that can alter the taste so best to take a few extra minutes to shred your own.
    • This dip is best made 3-4 hours before serving then chilled in the refrigerator to “marinate” the flavors together.

    Storage

Refrigerator: Place in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Freezer: I DO NOT recommend freezing this dip as it will compromise the flavors.
